As we have to make basically all our food from scratch it is important that we are super organised when preparing for any food celebrations, whether that be Easter, Christmas, or birthdays… And Oliver’s birthday is no exception. I try and space out the cooking as cooking for 20 kids is exhausting. So today, I spent the day making sausage rolls and I will cook and freeze them, ready for the big day.
On the weekend the kids had fun picking all the ripe tomatoes from our veggie garden. Then we had to choose what to do with them all. Should we make tomato sauce (ketchup), should we make tomato pasta sauce (napoli), should we make passata?? Or should we just eat them right there and then, fresh off the vine.
My choice for my party food menu is:
Party Pies, Sausage Rolls, Nuggets, Rocky Road, Chocolate Cupcakes, Crunchy Caramel Popcorn, Salted Chips, Fruit And Marshmallow Sticks and last of all a Special Birthday Cake of course.
Stay tuned in the coming days for the recipe posts so you can learn more about me and my recipes!
Mum’s Post – As Oliver’s birthday is in January we have never really worked out when it is best to have a party for him with his friends. We always celebrate on his birthday with family and a couple of his friends but we have never managed to have a class party.
